A Los Angeles entrepreneur approached us with the idea of developing a logo that would capture the Los Angeles of today.
Milton Glaser did it for his city, back in 1976, with his classic I ♥ NY mark, and this would be our version. The LA of 2019. An expression of love that conveys the essence of what Los Angeles is all about today.
LA has always played second fiddle to its larger East Coast counterpart, but we would argue that LA has come into its own; slowly becoming a global trendsetter in art, fashion, design, and architecture.
Los Angeles has always been an inspiring place to live and create, and with our design we wanted to capture a little bit of that endless source of creativity, that effortless sophistication, and underlying elegance that defines the city today.
Our approach was simple. Stripes! That ubiquitous design element that has always conveyed elegance. We added the grey to the letters and paired it with a softer red heart. We think it strikes the right balance. We hope you think so too.
